about

meet the owner: angie stine

I am Angie Stine, owner of Barbers on Broad. I began my cosmetology career in 1997 where I worked for several years at locally owned salons in the Lake Charles area. My first job was at Country Club Hair Salon where I had the privilege of working for the legend, Mary Ann Dever. We cut mostly men’s hair and that’s were I found my niche. I was able to observe Mother Goose, what a lot of folks called Mrs. Mary Ann. I loved how she ran her shop and how she treated customers with genuine love and kindness.

I left the industry for 17 years to be a devoted mother to my four amazing sons. While at home with my children, the idea of opening my own barbershop played out in my mind time and time again. Now that my children are older, I was able to make my vision a reality.

My first home purchase was in the beautiful downtown Lake Charles and the area has always had a special place in my heart. It was my passion to bring back a classic traditional barbershop to build community and provide a warm relaxing atmosphere for folks to enjoy. In addition, I wanted to provide all the barbershop staples such as hot towels, straight razor shaves, precision haircuts and shoe shine. All of which allows gentlemen to walk out the door feeling and looking their best!

After all, it’s not just a haircut, it’s an experience.

She then continued working over the next several years at local salons and barbershops including the barbershops of L’auberge, The Golden Nugget and Mancave Salon. She received her barbers license in 2012.

meet: KENZIE Stevison

From an early age Kenzie has always had a passion for all things self care. Throughout high school she did hair and makeup on the side, which inspired her going to cosmetology school shortly after graduating high school. She received her cosmetology license in 2016 & has since worked in several local salons.

Having her son at the beginning of 2016 fueled her desire to be better & chase her goals even more & develop a love for men’s hair. Her people skills & intuitive personality give customers a sense of comfort when they are in her chair.
